Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that attach to the pelvis and support the internal structures, keeping things in that should stay in and letting things out that should go out. When there is dysfunction in the pelvic floor many issues can result: incontinence (urinary stress, frequency or
urgency), pain with bowel movements, pain with intercourse, tail bone pain or even pain with sitting.

The pelvic floor muscles depend on proper alignment and function of the lower back, pelvis and abdominal region in order to function properly. Diet, medications, lifestyle and overall health can also have a large impact on pelvic floor health.
