Why we do what we do

Our Purpose

To provide the highest quality physical therapy, prevention and health education; creating a satisfied, knowledgeable and independent patient with restored health referring others.

Our purpose is more than a statement that hangs on the wall. To all of us at Health Motion it is who we are, what we do and why we do it. It is the ideal we strive to make clearly visible in all our actions every day.

We are often asked why our purpose statement says part of the outcome we want to achieve is patients referring others. Simply put, there is no better patient testimony to our quality of care and treatment than when the patient refers a friend or family member to us. We actually monitor this as one of our quality of care indicators. We get great results and appreciate the opportunity to help more people.

Our Story

Health Motion Physical Therapy Services was originally founded in 1993 and was eventually sold to an ownership group that included Sally & Mark Talbot and Allison Hedstrom. They successfully ran HMPT for 19 years. In October of 2022, Sally, Mark and Allison decided that they were ready to retire from ownership. They were approached by an ownership group headlined by Mara DeBoer. This sale was due to HMPT’s unique care model and their efforts to put the patient first in every aspect.

This unique treatment model is a 3 step approach that includes manual physical therapy, exercise, and modalities as needed. Each session has 1-on-1 time with your physical therapist for hands-on care. The patient gets undivided attention from each staff member throughout their visit. The patient is the most important member of the rehab process, as we want them to return to doing what they love. At Health Motion, our team is dedicated to finding the root cause of the problem and educating the patient on the WHY to ensure the fix is not temporary. Through this process, we have a high success rate with our patients compared to the national average –  nearly 85% compared to the national average of roughly 50-60%.
